St. Anne's art gallery is a new gallery on the site of the former abbey church in the medieval St. Aegidius quarter. It is a wonderful opportunity to see contemporary and 20th century art, including the collections of the Museum of Art and Cultural History. St. Anne's museum, housed in the former Augustinian abbey, offers displays of religious art and Germany's most important collection of medieval carved altar pieces in the north German style, including Hans Memling's outstanding Passion altar of 1491.
